egon alfred assin

the life and times of egon alfred assin. born dec. 14th 2009.
(if the post is wrapped in double dots (..) then it's by daddy. otherwise by mummy)

you know when you forget to do something for so long, it becomes harder and harder to do it?  yeah.  ok i need to recap the last few months or so!

so our vacation in florida back in april was lovely - egon really had a good time on the beach, the weather was perfect and we even got to relax a bit as he was so into just sitting and digging in the sand!

on the beach, singing the wheels on the bus!  (well doing the actions at least!)

so since then we’ve gained a few more teeth - 14 is the total at the moment and he’s working on the last 2 canines.  the molars and canines have been particularly rough - he even had a nasty fever at one point which we pu down to teething.  and now that he’s so much better at communicating with us, i think it’s hard for him when he can’t make himself understood, or when we understand he’s in pain with his teeth but can’t do much to help him.  cue a lot of frustration :(

but what else is new?  he feeds himself so well now, mealtimes are up to him with his little metal fork.  he knows a LOT of the letters of the alphabet and can identify them if you draw them for him (which is most fun to do on his magnadoodle - best toy ever!).

at the filipino independence day parade, wearing one of the shirts i’ve been making for him recently!

and in another mummy-shirt at the bronx zoo (cafeteria!)

he’s got a lot of words now and plenty of parts of words which we can understand (“side” for “outside”, etc).  on those great days when i can let him run free in the playground for as long as he wants i always enjoy him letting me know when he’s ready to get in his stroller and leave.  we’re still going to art class most weeks and enjoying that.  oh and egon’s running around a lot!

(and needs a haircut now the 90 degree+ weather is here!)
