mummy i don't want a bottle
how could i forget to write that we have started trying to get egon to take a bottle of expressed breast milk in preparation for when i go back to work. he’s not having any of it and we’re having a bit of a trying time!!! he just chomps on the nipple and refuses to suck. and the longer you try, the more he gets frustrated and upset. there is a lot of advice online about this but it...
spring is here and the baby is happy
so three months have gone by… incredible. egon is finally a (fairly) happy little chappy and the colic is behind us :) to top things off, spring seems to have arrived - the cortelyou moms gathered on lupe’s porch today and with babies, blankets and blackberries, welcomed the sun!
it felt so good to be outside without a coat, with egon strapped to me in the beco carrier and strolling...

i just realised i haven’t written about egon’s recent musical experiences! last sunday we took him to a local bar because my good friend and co-worker jim was playing there! i’ve been flaking on chances to see him perform for too long - but this time was so close and even a baby-friendly hour so off we all went! so much fun! the music was loud and raucous but egon loved it! ...

so what i thought was baby acne i now believe to be eczema. did some googling and that’s what it sounds like. i also realised that it started flaring up around about the time we switched from the burt’s bees baby bath to the johnson’s sleepytime one! so we have switched back in the hope that it will fizzle out… i put aquafor lotion on twice a day and think i am seeing an...
grabbing, belly buttons and 'baby acne'?
egon is now really reaching for and grabbing parts of his baby gym - especially his favorite big red ring and also his rattly giraffe toy, which he shakes about! it’s great to see him look and move his hand to where he is looking. once he grabs, he hangs on, too! so playtime is lasting longer without him getting bored - hooray!

a week had passed with no poo. until today the mustard magma flowed again! it seems like such a long time for one who eats so much to be holding it in… but he seems fine and it’s a normal consistency i think. so oh well! less dirty nappies to change :) i was pleased that again it stayed in his nappy and didn’t get on his new trousers!
