first trip to the movies!
yesterday egon and i went with a couple of other local mummys and babies to the cinema to see ‘valentines day’ - totally crap, but a nice experiment ;) the babies were all very well behaved! egon fell asleep on my lap after a lot of feeding and was just lovely. he looked at the screen a little bit but not as much as the older babies did. more interested in feeding - classic egon...
hello poo!
thankfully the poo made an appearance yesterday and then an encore again today! thick, yellow and plenty of it - but it stayed neatly inside the nappy both times, good poo! so hopefully egon’s feeling better. he’s currently sleeping off the big effort and nnnngggggghhh sounds! aww :)
p.s. record amount of sleep at night is now 7.5 hours! woop!

..ok, so as em said, the poo in being held in and even with the wonders of internet research assuring us that days on end without a number 2 is quite normal for our little guy at his 2 month mark, i too am getting worried. i mean, i can’t imagine holding it in for let alone 2 days. i guess that’s the reason for all the crankiness. hell, i would be upset too if the pizza i had...
stomping manhattan!
egon and i have been doing the city this week! 3 days in a row - hanging with auntie jess monday, then auntie fran and zig on tuesday and then in to see the entire rokkan crew on weds! he was very good in general, sleeping in his stroller a lot, letting everyone hold him, he even slept soundly when i experimentally took him to a bar last night! great! hehe :)

couple of good days
thank you egon :) we’ve had a few days with less screaming, more smiling, more daytime napping! and the snow’s melted a bit so we should be able to venture out more this week. planning on a mommy+baby yoga class and maybe a movie… though ironically i’m not sure there’s anything i really want to see!

cry, sleep, poo
poo first - so hmm i had thought that egon was doing a poo a day. hmm. well then he went for 2 1/2 days with no poo! i was getting a little worried, did the research, totally normal for a 2 month old they say. so then we had our first monster poo yesterday! there was so much! out it poured onto the changing mat, like a mustard volcano. then today there’s been quite a lot of poo...
8 weeks old today!
wow! so the past 3 nights egon has slept for… 5 hrs, 5 1/2 hrs, 6 hrs! getting better and better - i’m amazed! i’m convinced that it’s due to the nighttime routine, which we have stuck to rigidly for about a month now. i think he definitely knows the difference between night and day. so great! also, something which could be helping him sleep longer is the fact...

..ok, so when he’s screaming that high pitched, glass shattering, only dogs can hear wail of the banshee, all thoughts as to the root causes and possible cures run in my head. everyone has said, the discomfort is from gas paired with an immature digestive system. the poor tyke suffering the same distress when us adults in times of impaired judgment (usually a combo of youth and alcohol)...
bouncy chair in the bathroom!
can’t believe i never tried this before - as i’d heard of other people doing it. this morning i put egon in his bouncy chair in the bathroom while i took a shower… and didn’t hear a peep out of him! every time i peeked at him from behind the shower curtain he was enthralled with the creatures hanging over him (he may have been deliberately making them move by shifting in...
12lb 12oz!
pediatrician’s appointment today and the little guy weighed in at 12lb 12oz and a combined height/weight in the 96th percentile for his age! and as he’s fed purely on breast milk, that’s absolutely fine :) otherwise totally healthy and doing great, had a couple of shots which he took very well and had his crazy big belly button checked out… that might get bigger before it...
