the teeth have been coming thick and fast! it’s less than a month ago he still only had the bottom 2 and now he has 4 big ones on the top and number 7 is sprouting on the right side on the bottom. amazing! he has been cranky on and off with it all (understandably so…) but i think we’ve been pretty lucky to have so many over and done with so quickly. CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP! :)
so things are generally looking good with the dairy! about 4 hours after eating that entire yogurt, egon broke out in a minor rash on his torso, neck and face, but it was gone the next day. very minor reaction compared to the extreme flare-up which took place when i tried to feed him yogurt at about 5 months. so i’m hopeful he is out-growing the allergy. i am still eating dairy myself and he is having no reaction so far to my milk, so big thumbs up on that count!

photos from egon’s visit to queens to see family, taken by his great-uncle romeo.

love this one :)
in other news - egon now helps me in the mornings by putting the empty milk canisters into my bag. he is frequently showing me that he understands what i ask him to do, which is so exciting! simple things like ‘put the block in the red cup’ etc - makes me wonder how much he does understand what i say! it’s lovely.
his grandma is coming to visit from england in just over a week’s time now! we have plenty of fun activities planned :)
because egon just ate an entire yo baby yogurt - main ingredient whole milk - with no major outbreak (just a few red patches where the yogurt got on his face and i think irritated the skin?) - did he grow out of the allergy? did it ever actually exist?? i don’t care - i can eat mac & cheese again!!!!!!!!!
… well that’s what i just wrote on facebook, but of course only time will tell. i am crossing my fingers SO HARD over here!
egon’s on the mend from his first fever. temperature maxed out at 102, (though mainly hovered around 100) and lasted for 2 days. 2 days of intense sleepiness, off his food, clung to mama like his life depended on it (that was the one cute factor), nursed 24/7 and made the most heart-breaking sad noises. baby with a fever = saddest thing in the world. i stayed home from work with him yesterday and took him to the doctor after he puked, but of course by the time we got there he was giggling and looking a lot more chipper :) after a good afternoon nap and then a great night’s sleep he was much his old self this morning, so off to daycare he went after eating two helpings of breakfast. that’s my boy!
